What is LED?
Normal televisions use a fluorescent lamp backlight to produce an image. Samsung LED TVs create image by using white, light emitting diodes (LED). It’s the same technology found in laptop screens. LED lights use much less energy and offer more precise control of colour contrast and clarity.

Wonderful Post , LED televisions are really the future of television industry
OLED is the future, not LED. Feel the difference. LED is a Samsung marketing term to deceive you. It’s just a backlight source for legacy LCD matrix, no more! Samsung is not the only manufacturer of TVs with LED backlight. No other leading TV manufacturers (Sony, Philips, Sharp) call such LCD TVs as LED TV, only Samsung does. Guess why? He wants you to confuse it with OLED technology.

I saw one of these LED televisions in currys, the picture quality is just stunning, but im going to wait for the 8 series as the screen mega/ herts is 200, and the contrast ratio is 5000.000. These tv’s are the future!
I would love one of these to see my scuba videos on, hopefully they would be enhanced.
May have to wait and save up I guess.
These things are not only stunningly thin, but also weigh less than your standard LCD, making them easier to hang on the wall – even the ceiling (just dreaming now…). Would love to be the proud owner of one of these, or at least see one in action.
While these are pretty cool, I was watching one at my husbands store today and it almost made me a little sick. The Tru-Vision or whatever it is called made it look like it was a home-video.. very clear but almost too clear. Anyone else feel this way?>
